Onboarding: Claude skills backed by calculation code
Customer Identification Program field checks, application gaps by account type (CIP, beneficial ownership, FINRA 4512, 2090, 2111 and 2165), and onboarding milestone tracking. Records the result of an OFAC screen performed elsewhere; does not itself screen sanctions lists, verify identity documents, aggregate accounts or manage e-signatures.
What wealth-onboarding calculates
2 commands, each available in the CLI, as an MCP tool and as a JavaScript import. Every result carries the method it used, the questions it still needs answered and the next steps worth taking.
| Command | What it returns | What it needs |
|---|---|---|
onboarding validate-cip | Customer Identification Program field checks, recording an OFAC result screened elsewhere. | applicant, ofacStatus |
onboarding gaps | What an account application is missing: blocking items, items needed before recommendations, and recommended items. | application |
When to use it
Requests this pack answers:
- “can we open this account”
- “is this application complete”
- “what do we still need to open this account”
- “is this application complete”
What it does not do
Named here because leaving it out is how an agent ends up asserting something the code never computed.
Guidance only, no engine behind it
- OFAC / SDN screening itself
- Documentary and non-documentary identity verification (Alloy, Socure, Trulioo)
- KYC document parsing
- Account aggregation (Plaid, Yodlee) and e-signature workflows (DocuSign)
Limits to state with every result
ofacStatusmust come from an actual sanctions screen. If it is missing, CIP fails withNOT_SCREENED; never fill it in to make the check pass.- The SSN check validates format only, not issuance or ownership.
- A passing result means the required fields are present and well-formed, not that the applicant's identity is verified.
Run it
node bin/wealth-skills.js onboarding validate-cip --applicant '{"name":"Jane Doe","ssn":"123-45-6789","dob":"1990-05-15","address":"456 Elm St","ofacStatus":"CLEAR"}'
The same commands are exposed as MCP tools, so Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and any other MCP client can call them directly. See the integration guide and the pack itself, skills/wealth-onboarding/SKILL.md.

Questions it answers
Can we open this account?
Customer Identification Program field checks, recording an OFAC result screened elsewhere. Run onboarding validate-cip in the CLI, or call the same tool over MCP. It needs applicant and ofacStatus. These are the CIP elements. The result carries the method it used, the data it used, anything still missing and the next steps worth taking, for a licensed professional to review.
What do we still need to open this account?
What an account application is missing: blocking items, items needed before recommendations, and recommended items. Run onboarding gaps in the CLI, or call the same tool over MCP. It needs application. Required records differ for individual, joint, IRA, trust and entity accounts. The result carries the method it used, the data it used, anything still missing and the next steps worth taking, for a licensed professional to review.
