Discounted cash flow valuation with a terminal value and a sensitivity grid
One command in the Research pack, available in the CLI, as an MCP tool and as a JavaScript import: research dcf.
What it needs, and why
Every input is checked before anything is calculated. cashFlows and discountRate are required; the rest refine the answer.
| Input | Required | The question it asks | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|---|
cashFlows | yes | What are the forecast free cash flows for each year? | The valuation discounts each year of the forecast. |
discountRate | yes | What discount rate and long-run growth rate should be used? | Together they drive the terminal value, which is usually most of the answer. |
Requests it answers
- “what is this business worth”
- “build a DCF”
- “intrinsic value”
An agent with this pack loaded picks the command from phrasing like that, asks for whatever input is missing, and reports the figures with the method that produced them.
Limits it inherits from wealth-research
- Ratios are only as current and accurate as the fundamentals supplied.
- The filing summary matches a short keyword list; it is not a reading of the filing.
- Live fetches that fail return
nullvalues with an explanation. Report the data as unavailable; never estimate it. - SEC EDGAR requires
SEC_EDGAR_USER_AGENT(or auserAgentoption) naming your organization and a contact email.
The full pack, its other 1 command and what it deliberately leaves alone are on the Research page.
